Technological centerpiece for a power-to-heat (P2H) project in NRW
A project that has attracted nationwide attention is now starting in Werne, where 50 private households can upgrade their old heating system to a power-to-heat plant. A specialist company will be charged with installing these plants in the return flow of the heating circuit at all participating households. As a result, heating system owners will both consume less conventional fuel and reduce their heating costs. The project will run until 2020. By restructuring the grid, the company Westnetz (www.westnetz.de) ensures that all electricity used here is renewable. As a special incentive, project participants do not pay for the conversion or the electricity used for heating.
Siekerkotte will be providing the electric screw-in heaters for this installation. We produced these heaters according to Westnetz’s wishes and optimized them for the heating requirements of the households. All participants to the project thus know that they will receive a tailor-made solution to be at the forefront of the heat turnaround.
